Totally Kids Specialty Healthcare is a small pediatric sub-acute hospital with 45 patients. We are the ONLY long-term care hospital dedicated entirely to children. Position Description:

This position is responsible for managing purchase orders for all departments utilizing a computerized data bank that reflects the status of all supply orders. In addition, this position will be responsible for daily re-stocking of supplies to meet established par levels.

• Must be a high school graduate.
• Type 40 wpm.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows.
• Previous knowledge/experience with Quicken-based programs is preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language fluently.
• Must be able to demonstrate the use of basic Math skills.
• Must possess telephone communication skills conducive to the position.

Physical Requirements:

1. • Must be able to crouch /stoop as required.
   • Lifting Requirements: Must be capable of lifting or carrying objects that weigh up to 45 pounds.
   • Must be able to discern colors.
   • Physical skills necessary to operate all equipment: must be able to stand, reach in all directions, lift, and carry objects. Must have fine motor skills.
   • Must have 20/20 vision (correction devices allowed) and appropriately read patient information, posted materials, and other written information.
   • Must hear (correctional devices allowed) and comprehend well enough to give and receive information for appropriate completion of duties.
   • Must be able to speak, read, write, and listen in English with a skill level essential for communication in a sub-acute facility.
   • Must have normal physical stamina.
   • Must be able to bend and twist.
   • Must have full use of both hands.
   • Must be able to walk intermittently, six to ten hours per shift.

Duties Summary:

• Maintain computerized database for purchasing/supply process.
• Complete daily inventory of stock items and maintain shelf par levels.
• Calculate the appropriate stock volume for re-order items, initiate purchase orders, and submit purchase orders to appropriate persons for approval.
• Place orders for approved stock items.
• Receive stock orders and verify the correctness/completeness of orders. Attach packing/shipping order to purchase order.
• Notify the affected departments of order items and maintain a tracking record of back-ordered items.
• Notify department managers of stock shortages and the status of re-orders.
• Store receivables in the appropriate storage areas and dispense stock to maintain appropriate par levels.
• Deliver ordered non-stock items to the appropriate department manager.
• Verify the correctness of all invoices by comparing them to the packing lists and purchase orders.
• Forward verified invoices to the Administration for payment.
• Provide monthly utilization reports to each department manager.
• Participate in appropriate committee activities as directed.
