Home Assessor

As a Home Assessor, you will play a vital role in evaluating homes for energy performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of residential properties to assess energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Evaluate HVAC systems, insulation, windows, and appliances to identify opportunities for energy savings and potential issues.
- Use specialized tools and equipment to measure energy consumption, air leakage, and insulation levels.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, recommendations, and cost-effective solutions for homeowners.
- Educate homeowners on energy-saving strategies, home maintenance, and available incentives or rebates.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
- Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies related to home energy efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, audits, and recommendations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HERS Certification required.
- At least 1 year of experience in the HVAC field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a home inspector, energy auditor, or in a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Strong understanding of residential construction, building science, energy conservation principles, and home assessments.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment for energy assessments.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other software for generating reports and maintaining records.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information to management, peers, and homeowners.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, crawling, and climbing ladders; ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
