Home Assessor

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and audits of residential properties to assess energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Evaluate HVAC systems, insulation, windows, and appliances to identify opportunities for energy savings and potential issues.
• Use specialized tools and equipment to measure energy consumption, air leakage, and insulation levels.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, recommendations, and cost-effective solutions for homeowners.
• Educate homeowners on energy-saving strategies, home maintenance, and available incentives or rebates.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
• Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies related to home energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, audits, and recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HERS Certification required.
• At least 1 year of experience in the HVAC field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a home inspector, energy auditor, or in a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, building science, energy conservation principles, and home assessments.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment for energy assessments.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other software for generating reports and maintaining records.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information to management, peers, and homeowners.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, crawling, and climbing ladders; ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
