Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy Warden, the Correctional Administrator, DOC (Associate Warden) is a sworn peace officer in a state adult correctional institution and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the management of Facility C function of the institution for the following areas: Unit I and Unit II and Institutional Emergency Management Coordinator. Also plans, organizes, and directs the inmate classification committee process throughout the institution. Provides ongoing training for the counseling staff and evaluates staff compliance with classification policies, procedures, and goals.
Individuals who are eligibile for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
