Land Use Associate
Pay: $175,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year

Location: This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Roseville, CA, offering close collaboration with a highly specialized team and access to the broader Sacramento-area legal market.
Note: This role requires 3+ years of attorney experience, at least 2+ years of land use and environmental experience, strong CEQA and NEPA exposure, and active California Bar admission.

Job Description
- Handle land use and environmental matters involving project development, entitlement, permitting, compliance, and related disputes.
- Advise clients on CEQA, NEPA, and other California environmental and land use issues.
- Support matters involving mitigation and conservation banking, the Williamson Act, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Draft motions, briefs, research memoranda, comment letters, and other high-level legal analyses.
- Work with clients, agencies, consultants, and internal team members to move projects forward efficiently and strategically.
- Assist with administrative proceedings, regulatory strategy, and litigation support tied to land use and environmental matters.
- Manage assignments with increasing independence while collaborating closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated California matters.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of attorney experience, ideally within the 3rd to 8th year range.
- 2+ years of land use and environmental experience.
- Strong working knowledge of CEQA and NEPA.
- Experience with mitigation or conservation banking strongly preferred.
- Williamson Act experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and client-facing communication skills.
- Active California Bar admission required.
- Strong academic credentials preferred.
