Tasting Room Host - Part Time

Job Description:

Reichwage Winery is a family owned cider and wine producer located South-West of the town of Sebastopol. We have one of the few remaining historic apple orchards in the area, and our estate orchard and vineyard are farmed completely organically. We also grow and produce 100+ year old Zinfandel, and Carignane from Mancini Ranch in Santa Rosa. Our winery was completed in 2019 and our recently remodeled farm house tasting room was opened in 2023.

We’re seeking a Tasting Room Host who will welcome guests, and share our story, while driving sales and club memberships. Please note, you must be available to work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as these are our busiest days.

Summary:
Part Time employment at 20-30 hours per week. Assist in greeting guests upon arrival and host them throughout their estate experience. The Tasting Room Host is responsible for performing hospitality and related duties while working collaboratively with our small team.

Essential Duties:
• Maintain reservation system for guest appointments, communicate with guests by phone, email, and Commerce7 software.
• Host guests for an educational and memorable visit to our estate. Set up and break down tasting space, buffing and cleaning glassware and restocking as needed.
• Well versed and passionate about wine. Seeks to attain wine knowledge ranging from the wine industry, farming and production.
• Input orders accurately and in a timely fashion through Commerce7 software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep busy during down time.
• Direct foot traffic, set up and break down of new appointments including glassware, menus, etc.
• Packing online pick-up orders as needed
• Assists with inventory management of case-goods inventory and supplies
• Wash and polish glassware for the Tasting Room
• Assist with event planning (private and open-house type events)
• Represent winery at occasional outside functions

• Reliable team member: acts as support and greeter as needed. Completes daily side work and opening/closing checklists.
• Ability to work the tasting room solo and as part of a team for events

Qualifications:
• Minimum two years of sales/hospitality experience with a background in customer services, wine education, wine sales, hotel/concierge, and or wine club.
• Available to work weekends, some holidays and have a flexible schedule.
• Experience with Commerce7 POS systems is a plus but not required
• Preliminary wine, winemaking, and viticulture knowledge.

Physical requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to open multiple bottles of wine with a corkscrew, pour wine and operate POS system.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (case of wine)
