As a Client Account Manager for our Water Practice in the San Francisco (SF) Bay Area, CA , you’ll be at the forefront of strategic business relationships with municipal and regional water clients. You’ll ensure Jacobs is their firm of choice, delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service that help build thriving, resilient communities.In this role, you will lead select water client accounts for our municipal and state government water industry clients in or near the SF Bay Area. You will collaborate with and lead our delivery teams to lead strategy development to capture transformational work such as design build and operational contracts.
This position will be based out of SF Bay Area (encompassing the City and County of San Francisco, South Bay (Santa Clara County), East Bay (Alameda & Contra Costa), North Bay (Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano) and Peninsula (San Mateo/North Santa Clara) or the nearby vicinity in Northern California.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary contact for client service activities, driving outreach and relationship development.
- Lead client service teams and collaborate with California Water Growth and Operations Directors to align strategies and deliver local projects.
- Identify and pursue key opportunities, develop win strategies, and support proposal development
- Build mutually beneficial partnerships with consulting firms and contractors.
- Advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are met and recommending strategic actions for growth.
- Engage with internal technical and social communities to expand your business development skills and connect with peers and mentors.
- Participate in local industry and community engagement to enhance our brand and build relationships.

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in capital improvements focused on the water in the Northern CA area.
- Proven ability to develop growth strategies, build strong client relationships, and win new work.
- Experience leading teams and collaborating across disciplines.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of local trends and ability to create technical differentiation.
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Proven ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with clients at all organizational levels.
- Skilled at opening doors and leading account teams with vision, strategy, and accountability.
- Effective leader through influence, not just authority.
- High emotional intelligence and client political savvy.
- Innovative, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Technical experience in delivering or managing large water projects/programs, adding credibility in consulting, engineering, and construction.

205,600.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
350,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $205,600.00 to $350,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
