Travel Physical Therapist Job
Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Physical Therapist in California, Sonora, starting 02/16/2026 for several weeks of meaningful clinical work. This orthopedic-focused opportunity lets you apply your PT expertise to restore mobility, reduce pain, and empower patients to return to daily living with confidence. You’ll influence outcomes across diverse settings while enjoying the beauty and pace of California’s Sierra foothills. This assignment is designed for multi-week engagement with extension opportunities, offering weekly pay from $2,327 to $2,478 and unlimited potential to broaden your professional footprint. Although hours vary by site, this role is crafted to deliver rich clinical experiences and a rewarding travel career within a supportive framework. Location Benefits
Sonora, CA blends historic charm with access to extraordinary outdoor experiences. Nestled in the Sierra foothills, the town provides a welcoming community, easy access to outdoor recreation, and a gateway to Yosemite National Park, Stanislaus National Forest, and nearby lakes. Between patient care blocks, you can recharge with scenic vistas, hiking, fishing, and local culture. The broader program also offers opportunities to work in other locations across California and the United States, enabling you to expand professional exposure, collaborate with diverse care teams, and cultivate adaptability while maintaining a balanced lifestyle rooted in the warmth of a close-knit community. Role Specifics and Benefits
Key responsibilities and growth: As a Travel Physical Therapist, you’ll conduct comprehensive evaluations, design and implement individualized treatment plans, and guide patients through therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and balance training, and functional mobility programs. You’ll collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the care team to optimize interventions, monitor progress, and coordinate safe transitions of care. Documentation and patient education—along with home exercise program development—will be central to your workflow, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and measurable outcomes. The role also opens pathways for professional growth within orthopedics and mobility-focused specialties, supported by continuing education, targeted mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Our travel program provides a structured support network, including a dedicated travel coordinator, onboarding resources, and access to clinical leadership to help you refine skills and broaden your clinical repertoire. Competitive benefits: In addition to competitive pay (weekly pay between $2,327 and $2,478), you’ll receive housing assistance and a sign-on bonus for eligible assignments, with extension opportunities that let you lengthen your engagement based on performance and site needs. Travel stipends, per diem where applicable, and access to a comprehensive benefits package bolster your financial security and well-being. The program emphasizes flexibility and work–life balance, enabling planned time off to explore California’s landscapes or reposition for additional locations within the U.S. A cornerstone of the role is our robust support system: 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, rapid access to clinical leadership, and responsive help for scheduling, housing, or clinical questions. Support and culture: We’re committed to empowering our staff through a supportive, inclusive work environment that values ongoing learning, teamwork, and patient-centered care. You’ll find opportunities to mentor others, share best practices, and grow into leadership roles as you expand your expertise. The organization prioritizes career progression, wellbeing, and a collaborative culture where your professional contributions are recognized and celebrated. Company Values
