Accountant Lead

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to take full ownership of the accounting function for our two locations. This role is strictly accounting-focused and requires hands-on expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), billing, payroll, general ledger, and collections . The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and be ready to manage the full accounting cycle with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee AR and AP functions , ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Manage billing cycles, invoicing, collections, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and review financial reports to support management decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy in all accounting processes and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with leadership on reporting and financial insights.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting .
- Strong expertise in AR, AP, billing, payroll, general ledger, and collections .
- Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Proficiency with accounting software ( QuickBooks or similar ) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in the service industry .
- Knowledge of job costing and contract billing .
- Sage or NetSuite
