As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. We are searching for an extraordinary Hardware Engineer to take ownership in the development of very high-performance compact camera modules. We are seeking an engineer to take leadership of camera hardware projects in engagements with product and technology teams. Description - Design camera module structures in CAD. - Design injection molded, sheet metal, PCB, and other component parts. - Author detailed 2D manufacturing and inspection drawings. - Perform rigorous tolerance analysis of module designs and component parts. - Interface with component part and camera manufacturing partners on design manufacturability and resolution of mechanical issues. - Author clear documentation on mechanical inspection and test requirements. - Direct FEA engineers on evaluation of camera designs. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Optical Science, Physics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Proficient in CAD 3D modeling and 2D drafting, NX a plus.
• Expertise in plastic injection molding, sheet metal design, and material surface treatment.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, material knowledge and FEA.
• Proficient in conducting tolerance analysis for highly complex and precision mechanical structures.
• Proven track record in transitioning designs into mass production, ensuring rigorous quality control and reliability standards.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
