Tire Technician

Connect Staffing is hiring a Tire Technician for a truck tire repair and recapping shop in Corona, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $20/hr, Monday–Friday with possible weekends. In this role, you will mount, dismount, and repair tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, and prep rims and wheel drums using hand tools, power tools, and a sandblaster. This shop works on commercial vehicles, so you'll gain hands-on experience with heavy-duty tires and wheels every day.

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5pm, possible weekends

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, and repair tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers using lug wrenches, hand tools, and power tools.
• Inspect truck and trailer tires for excessive wear, bulges, cuts, and damaged tread.
• Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting.
• Balance wheels and verify correct fit after installation using tire balancing equipment and a vehicle lift.
• Dispose of damaged and old tires in accordance with California state regulations.
• Keep the shop area clean and report safety issues to management immediately.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience mounting, dismounting, or repairing tires on light, medium, or heavy-duty vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial truck or trailer tires (semi, box truck, flatbed).
• Familiarity with tire balancing equipment and torque specifications.
• Familiarity with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) diagnosis and sensor replacement
• Experience operating a vehicle lift, sandblaster, or bench grinder in a shop environment.
• Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) tire compliance and safety standards.
• Experience in a tire shop, fleet maintenance shop, or heavy-duty vehicle service center.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift up to 75 lbs.
• Steel toe boots required (employee-provided).
• Drug screen required.

• Valid driver's license required — driving is a core job duty.
• Clean MVR required; must remain insurable under company liability insurance policy.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
