Senior Accountant

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and organized Senior Accountant to join our team at Brody Pennell. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee and manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Account Reconciliation: Conduct detailed reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvements.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving audit inquiries.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis and provide insights into financial performance, trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Working Conditions:

- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for Extended Periods: Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for the majority of the workday.
- Typing and Data Entry: Proficiency in typing and using a computer mouse for data entry and communication tasks.
- Phone Usage: Ability to handle a headset or phone for extended periods.
- Visual Acuity: Good vision required for reading computer screens and documentation.
- Hearing: Ability to hear clearly through a headset or phone to effectively communicate with customers.
- Repetitive Motion: Frequent use of keyboard and mouse, which involves repetitive motion.
- Manual Dexterity: Adequate manual dexterity for handling phone equipment and performing data entry tasks.
