Lead Barista

Wildbird in El Segundo, CA is looking for one lead barista to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and engaged.

Key Responsibilities of a Lead Barista:

• Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to company standards.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, greet customers, take orders, and ensure a positive experience.
• Training and Supervision: Train and guide new baristas on beverage preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing the store, restocking inventory, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Cash Handling: Accurately operate a register/POS, handle cash and credit card transactions, and balance cash drawers.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
• Scheduling: May be responsible for creating and managing schedules for baristas.
• Safety and Sanitation: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Sales and Promotions: Participate in sales promotions and engage customers in the store.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with staff and customers, and provide feedback to baristas.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous barista experience or related retail food & beverage customer-facing experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to train and supervise staff.
• Knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation techniques.
• Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Flexibility to work different shifts.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks without close supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skill
