Position Summary

The Business Development / Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving sales goals in the plumbing service and repair industry. This role will develop strategies to grow the company’s market share, build long-term partnerships, and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The manager will represent the company in a manner consistent with our core values: Confident & Humble, Dependable & Transparent, Hardworking & Accountable, Cooperative, Professional, and Positive.

Compensation & Benefits

· Base compensation will be $50,000 / annually + up to 7% commission.

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new commercial, residential, and contractor opportunities in the plumbing service market.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new accounts and maintain relationships.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and client communications in CRM systems.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, bids, and estimates in compliance with company standards.
  • Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, state and federal regulations, and industry standards.
  • Uphold and model company core values in all interactions with clients, team members, and vendors.

Non-Essential Job Functions

These duties are not essential to the role but may be performed as part of the overall responsibilities:

  • Assist with marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns, website updates, and promotional materials.
  • Support recruiting efforts for sales or business development staff as the team grows.
  • Participate in community outreach programs or charitable events sponsored by the company.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on operational processes to improve client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of business development or sales experience in plumbing, construction, HVAC, or related service industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of California plumbing service market and regulatory environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain long-term business relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements (ADA-Compliant)

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to use hands to operate a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., marketing materials, presentation equipment).
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed (driving required).

Work Environment

  • Office and field-based environment with regular visits to client sites, construction sites, and industry events.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required by client meetings or events.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
