Media / Marketing Associate
Job Description and Duties
The California State Fair Media/Marketing Associate will assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns under the direction of the Business Development Manager in the areas of digital advertising, community promotions, media relations, print, social media, video production & graphic design. The focus will be on content development social media, monitoring all social media accounts, email, customer service, event coordination, website management, and media relations.

Working Conditions
- Required to carry a cell phone.
- Requires repetitive movement of heavy objects.
- Works near fast-moving machinery or traffic.
- Periodic Overtime.
- May be required to respond after work hours.
- Works at elevated heights.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, airborne dust, fumes, vapors, chemicals, medical waste and blood borne pathogen.
- Performs other duties requiring high physical demand (requires moving and set up of pop-up tents, lifting of heavy boxes, hanging banners)
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
- Participation in DMV Pull Notice Program
Must complete fingerprints through Live Scan

- Photo and video editing skills
- Bilingual; the ablity to understand and communicate to all Spanish speaking individuals
- Experience in research, writing, and editing for publication of brochures, flyers, and advertisements
- Critical thinker with attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) & Canva
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools (website content management and analytics, promotional email software, SEO reporting tools, Google AdWords and analytics)
Experience with the following:
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Social media skills, blogging, posting, and engaging on social media platforms
- Web Design, Work Press, CMS
- Email marketing and marketing automation systems
- Graphic design
- Broadcast media, radio, social, print, and digital
- Writing press releases, blogs, editing and website management
