Irrigation Specialist III
La Jolla Country Club is a private 18-hole Golf Course located above the Village of La Jolla. We are currently looking for an Irrigation Specialist III. This position is Full-Time 40 hours per week.
Job Details:The Irrigation Specialist III, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system(s).
- The irrigation specialist is required to report any irregularities in course turf quality to the superintendent or assistant superintendent. Waters greens, tees, and fairways.
- Operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.
- Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed.
- Completes requests for irrigation and course parts and supplies.
- Repairs greens with seeds or plugs of new grass when needed.
- Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees, and fairways.
- Operates dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris. Helps install and maintain drainage systems on the golf course.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous landscape experience is preferred but not required. 2-plus years.
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Some weekends are required.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- $24.00 - $28.00 DOE .
