Senior Release Manager - Teamfight Tactics, Core Tech
As a Release Manager at Riot you will be joining one of our teams responsible for updating and deploying our games across the globe. Release Managers are responsible for improving the product delivery pipeline with a continuous delivery mindset using both process and technology at your disposal. You understand what fuels games as a live service and have a passion to improve the experience for internal developers getting content out the door, and more importantly, the players. You’re a communication expert able to craft efficient and clear messages to any size group or situation. You’ll wrangle process and organize teams to keep momentum building, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement across the organization.
The Release Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the successful delivery of game releases across PC and mobile platforms (iOS and Android). This includes preparing builds for release, managing dependencies across teams, ensuring release quality and stability, and monitoring post-release health. The ideal candidate is technically savvy, detail-oriented, and thrives in a cross-functional environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and communicate release schedules across PC, iOS, and Android platforms
- Coordinate with feature teams, QA, live ops, publishing, and platform partners to align on release content and timing
- Ensure go/no-go criteria are clearly defined and consistently evaluated before release
- Work closely with engineering and automation teams to ensure build systems are stable, secure, and scalable
- Validate and configure builds for each platform, ensuring compliance with platform-specific guidelines (e.g., App Store, Google Play)
- Own the end-to-end release process, including final QA sign-off, build packaging, submission, and rollout to stores
- Ensure store metadata, release notes, and promotional content are accurate and up-to-date
- Monitor telemetry, health dashboards, crash reports, and user feedback after each release
- Work with analytics and SRE teams to configure and maintain monitoring dashboards
- Coordinate rapid response and hotfix efforts when issues are detected post-release
- Partner with teams owning backend services, infrastructure, and client systems to align release expectations
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years in release management, technical program management, or similar role in the game or software industry
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control (e.g., Perforce), and build systems (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Unity Cloud Build, etc.)
- Experience working with iOS and Android app store submissions, including phased rollouts and store metadata requirements
- Strong understanding of live service operations and post-launch telemetry monitoring (e.g., Grafana, Datadog, Kibana)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with cross-platform game development pipelines (PC, mobile)
- Technical background or formal training in software engineering or computer science
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile tools
- Prior experience in a live games or mobile game studio environment

- (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $135,700.00 - $188,700.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
