Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Looking for motivated RVT with experience for our private Veterinary Clinic. We are currently looking to hire an RVT to join the team. The ideal candidate should also be willing to grow with the hospital and may ask some managerial responses. The RVT is responsible for the daily care of our patients, including anesthesia monitoring and dental work, in addition to taking medical rooms with the on-site veterinarian. The RVT is required to assist the doctors with restraint and other responsibilities according to individual abilities and training. Any additional skills will be rewarded on regular basis.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging and communicating with clients
• Primary job functions include animal restraint, blood draws, assembly of surgical suite and instruments, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and administration of medication
• Monitor patient conditions during treatments, procedures or activities
• Perform laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment
• Getting and maintaining patient information
• Running anesthesia on a variety of surgical procedures
• Maintaining supply and equipment inventory
• Grow your skills with training, mentorship, and continuing education

Minimum Qualifications

• Required veterinary technician license in the state of California
• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a registered veterinary technician
• Flexible with scheduling - must be available to work rotating weekend shifts if needed
• Dental experience required

Physical Requirements: The candidate will be required to stand for long periods and perform moderately heavy physical labor, and must be able to handle and restrain animals.

Controls Over Work: The RVT works under the supervision of the primary doctor, however, they will also receive directions from other staff members on a daily basis as we strongly believe in team effort. Previous experience is a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
