Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The RISE Engineer, R otations at I ntuitive S cience and E ngineering, completes 4, six-month assignments across various functions and business units for an accelerated learning and development experience along with acquisition of product knowledge, technical skills, and professional development. At the conclusion of the RISE program, participants will have the opportunity to interview for any available permanent positions within the organization for which they are qualified.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Complete 3-week technical Boot Camp Training prior to starting first RISE Assignment
- Support key technical projects as assigned by RISE Assignment Manager in various areas of software engineering / computer science.
- Transfer of project knowledge and key information to other RISE Participants
- Network with mentor and other Intuitive employees for greater organization understanding and growth.
- Attend RISE training sessions for increased technical and soft skills and apply to assignments and projects.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong technical ability to grasp new concepts and apply to problem-solving /solutions
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic and passionate about the medical device technology
- Experience with robots or electro-mechanical devices is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral)
- Flexible and open-minded
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering or related degree
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with robots or electro-mechanical devices
- Knowledge of the following: QNX, Linux, and Eclipse

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
