Live-in part-time Caregiver position in Long Beach near the beach!

Location: Bluff Park / Belmont Heights beach area of Long Beach, CA (one block from the ocean).

This position is ideal for someone who would enjoy living near the ocean while providing a few hours of supportive companionship and assistance each day. Approximately 4 hours per day, total. Candidate may spend there off time as they wish.

A kind and thoughtful live-in caregiver is sought for a 90-year-old woman with dementia living in the beautiful Bluff Park / Belmont Heights neighborhood of Long Beach. She remains physically capable and largely self-sufficient but benefits from light support and companionship throughout the day.

The caregiver will provide morning and late afternoon/early evening assistance , while having the majority of the day free for personal activities. Hourly pay and free housing.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Accompanying client on short walks, including walks to the harbor (one block away) using her walker

• Ensuring safety when getting in and out of the shower

• Driving to errands and appointments , including Trader Joe’s, hair appointments, banking, and doctor visits

• Light housekeeping and laundry

• Shopping and running errands

• Providing friendly companionship and conversation

• Helping care for her beloved indoor cat, Rusty

• Occasional transportation to social outings (sometimes she also uses Uber)

Medication management is handled by another provider every Monday. The caregiver will not administer medication and will not supervise other staff .

The role is primarily about companionship, safety oversight, and light support rather than intensive medical care.

The ideal candidate will be someone who naturally brings warmth and positivity into the home.

• Ability to build trust and provide emotional comfort for someone living with dementia

• Comfortable providing companionship and light caregiving support

• Valid driver’s license and ability to run errands and drive to appointments

• Comfortable with a live-in arrangement

• Must enjoy a casual household environment

• Must be comfortable around an indoor cat
