Maintenance Supervisor

Accountable To: General Manager
Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time
Rate: $24.50 - $28.00 p/hour (Employer est.) Primary Objective:
Provide guests with a secure, comfortable environment by developing and maintaining ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring that all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with the standards of Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel. Areas of Accountability:
- Contributes to the overall operation of the hotel by assisting in maintaining an organized and efficient Maintenance Operation. Maintains hotel in accordance with the maintenance schedule by assigning and supervising maintenance staff.
- Supervises the day-to-day activities.
- Purchases appropriate, cost effective chemicals and other operating supplies.
- Maintains familiarity with the cleaning equipment, fills out requisition orders.
- Coordinates and priorities the distribution of repair maintenance orders and planned maintenance orders.
- Checks and monitors the completed work in order to ensure it is complete in accordance with Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel’s standards of engineering.
- Oversees Public Space for efficiency and cleanliness.
- Conducts inspections of public space and does follow-up as needed.
- Assists and special cleaning projects.
- Meets and exceeds customer expectations.
- Keeps General Manager and Operations Manager closely informed of anything that could indicate malfunctions.
- Insures that guest rooms are within the standards of Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel.
- Inspects guests rooms as needed and required to ensure quality control.
- Checks long term guest rooms.
- Writes maintenance orders.
- Checks linen closets and carts for functionally.
- Provides staff with the skills training to provide value added service to customers.
- Monitors service and teamwork on a regular basis.
- Maintains safe working conditions within department and hotel.
- Insures that all employees follow safety rules and procedures.
- Confers closely with the Executive Housekeeper at all times and takes every opportunity to improve condition of the property.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 60 pounds without assistance.
- Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds.
- Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attention to customer service with a professional and pleasant personality.
- Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintains safe working conditions within department and hotel.
- Insures that all employees follow safety rules and procedures.
- Coordinates staffing and payroll to confirm with productivity standards.
- Prepares payroll and schedules as required.
- Utilizes leadership skills and motivation techniques in order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction of direct reports.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Keeps supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters of significance.
