Job Title: RN - OR Circulator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: OR Circulator Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Six or more months of relevant OR experience required. License: Current RN license in state of practice required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 3 months of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 3 months of hire. Description: Located in a serene environment, our facility has been providing exceptional care since 1977. We are comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, offering various medical, surgical, and outpatient services. Job Summary: Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Function as Scrub Technician when needed. Coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care. Be responsible for meeting established Standards of Nursing Practice and promoting cooperation among the healthcare team. Essential Functions: Assure patients’ personal needs are met. Assist in reducing the noise level of the nursing unit. Participate in daily management practices. Demonstrate commitment to coworkers. Work as a team to assure that all patients have their needs met. Maintain patient, coworker, and hospital privacy. Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and legible. Deliver clear, concise reports. Complete assigned quality monitors as directed by department manager. Follow infection control guidelines. Obtain history and physical assessments according to unit-specific nursing protocols for all age groups. Review medical history, physical examinations, and all available assessment data. Identify abnormal diagnostic data and report to the appropriate person. Provide necessary information to begin discharge planning in a timely manner to the correct personnel. Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively function in emergency situations. Accurately administer and chart medications according to hospital policies and procedures while adhering to patients’ rights. Implement and/or assist others in the implementation and documentation of planned education. Assess patients’ educational needs. Assist in the development and education of new staff members. Attend and participate in staff meetings. Complete education, training, and competencies for department-specific skills. Successfully adapt to changes in the unit, environment, and workflow. Ensure all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly. Utilize department resources appropriately. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
