Group Lead/Manufacturing Technician

Position Overview:
As the Group Lead/Manufacturing Technician for Coach-Final Assembly, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and high-quality assembly of Coach vehicles in the final stages of production. This pivotal role involves overseeing a dedicated team, coordinating assembly processes, and maintaining quality standards. Your leadership is instrumental in achieving production targets, adhering to safety protocols, and encouraging a collaborative work environment.
What your day will look like:
- Assigns daily work, provides clear instructions, and supports employee training.
- Coordinates schedules with Group Leaders and Supervisors to meet production goals.
- Monitors and enforces safety, quality, methods, and productivity standards.
- Performs quality checks and ensures work meets engineering and dimensional requirements.
- Communicates work plans, progress, and employee performance to supervision.
- Reviews and prepares time sheets and labor documentation.
- Leads and supports safety meetings and ensures full compliance with safety procedures.
- Reads and works from engineering drawings to assemble and fit steel components and subassemblies.
- Defines production work steps, sequences, and standardized work instructions.
- Drives manufacturing improvements, process changes, and process control with minimal supervision.
What are we looking for?
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 Years’ experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Demonstrated Mechanical and or Electrical aptitude.
- Proven ability to train and mentor team members.
- Experience in successfully leading a diverse team in a production environment.
- Track record of actively engaging in problem-solving and implementing effective countermeasures within assigned area of responsibility.
We would be impressed if you had :
- 3 + years of experience planning and supporting launch of new production lines in a low-speed production environment (e.g. rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, heavy equipment, etc.).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent Experience)
- Work experience in the rail business, preferably in light rail, heavy rail, or related production, is needed.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP / ERP systems is highly desired.
- Practical experience in Customer Service / Maintenance / After Market businesses and technologies within the rail industry.

This position in located in Sacramento, CA. The starting hourly rate for this position is $27.95 . This is a first shift position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
