Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll Specialist (Part-Time, Remote – U.S. Candidates Only)

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Payroll Specialist to join our remote team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours while contributing to a high-performing finance and HR team.
Key Responsibilities
• Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple states
• Verify employee hours, earnings, and deductions for accuracy
• Maintain and update payroll records in HRIS/payroll systems
• Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on employee changes (hires, terminations, benefits updates)
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally
• Assist with payroll audits and reporting as needed
Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–4+ years of payroll processing experience
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex, or similar)
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
Work Schedule
• Part-time position (approximately 20–30 hours per week)
• Flexible schedule; availability during standard business hours preferred
• Occasional peak workload during payroll cycles
Work Requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Fully remote (U.S.-based candidates only)
Preferred Skills
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
• Experience in healthcare or multi-location organizations
• Familiarity with HRIS and benefits systems
