The Director of Credit and Collections is responsible for actively managing the North American Credit and Collections function, external and internal financial audits, and AR collections forecasts for the region. This is financial leadership role, responsible for developing the company's credit and collection infrastructure and processes, while at the same time supporting prudent customer sales and coordinating optimal realization of customer billings & collections. Must have the knowledge and vision to utilize and leverage technology in credit and collection. In this role you will drive strategy to action with your team and ensure continuous improvement and cross functional accountability.

This position is part of the America's Controllership Organization and will be located in Santa Clara, Ca as hybrid employee. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage and develop a team of eight which includes two direct and six indirect staff members
• Help to establish collection targets to drive improvements in Working Capital and managing the team to meet or beat set targets.
• Make a significant impact on the overall success of functional or division operations. Often is required to create/conceptualize new systems, programs, or products with significant business impact.
• Drive innovation and growth through continual automation, efficiency and effectiveness of our billing and collections processes and through the use of Danaher Business Systems (DBS).
• Collaborate with various teams such as Finance Ops, Cepheid Int'l teams, Order Management, Vendor Management & Sales to solve business issues and drive growth of the business.
• Act as an advisor that troubleshoots and resolves extremely complex problems within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas.
• Participate in month end through the review and approval of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis as well as providing monthly, quarterly and annual flux and statistical reporting (US & Consolidated)

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting with 14+ years of experience OR Masters/Doctoral degree with 12+ years of experience.
• 4+ years of Managing people experience with multinational companies.
• Experience with Billtrust, AR workflow or other relevant software

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Medical device or biotech experience is a plus
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
