Our client is a global entertainment company dedicated to bringing anime and manga culture to audiences worldwide, connecting millions of fans through streaming, events, and digital experiences.

Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced software engineer responsible for developing and maintaining complex systems for subscription management and user benefits. The position involves backend development, payment service integrations, and performance optimization within a distributed, cloud-based environment. You would demonstrate strong technical expertise, ownership, and effective collaboration across teams in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, extend, and maintain backend and frontend features for large-scale subscription systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, and designers to break down complex features into actionable tasks and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Review code, debug issues, and participate in on-call rotations to diagnose and resolve production incidents.
• Contribute to system architecture improvements, API integrations , and performance optimizations across cloud-native services.

Location

• Hybrid, 3 times per week in Los Angeles or San Francisco or Dallas

Must-have:

• Software engineering experience (12+ years ), with strong backend development in languages like Golang , Jav a, Python , or Node.js .
• Sknowlolid edge of frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript and React , plus experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain large-scale, cloud-based systems that integrate backend and frontend components.
• Comfortable collaborating on-site in a hybrid team environment and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience designing and managing subscription-based systems, including recurring billing and payment integrations .
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, serverless frameworks, and microservices design.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization.
• Strong collaboration, problem-solving , and communication skills, with a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.
