Trial Library is a mission-driven health technology company dedicated to improving health equity in cancer care by expanding access to precision medicine through clinical trials. We work with community oncology sites, patients, and industry partners to ensure that clinical research is accessible, navigable, and inclusive.
We are seeking a talented AI Engineer to join our team and help us accelerate clinical trial recruitment. This person will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying the AI features of Trial Library’s suite of solutions to facilitate identifying, referring, and enrolling patients into clinical trials. This position is critical to maintaining the highest quality standards as we work towards our company mission.
Your Responsibilities
- Creatively apply LLMs to develop solutions that streamline workflows and improve efficiency in clinical trial recruitment.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate AI models into existing and new applications.
- Apply principles of classic machine learning and experiment design to work with datasets, measure model accuracy, and iterate on solutions.
- Implement and maintain robust testing strategies for AI models, including unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug AI-related issues, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging AI technologies, particularly in the LLM and agent space, and best practices.
- Educate and assist coworkers in leveraging AI in their daily tasks where appropriate.
- Work with healthcare and clinical trial dataset, exercising a practical understanding of industry best practices (e.g., HIPAA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a strong focus on LLMs.
- Experience in developing and deploying applications leveraging LLMs.
- Basic understanding of classic machine learning algorithms and experiment design.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face).Familiarity with full-stack development concepts and technologies.A love of teaching and helping others succeed.
- Experience with healthcare tech or clinical trials is a significant plus.
- Respect for compliance and privacy requirements in healthcare (e.g. HIPAA).
