Transactions Supervisor I
Job Description and Duties
This is the first level supervisor responsible for the supervision of 7 to 8 Personnel Specialists and 1 Senior Personnel Specialist. Under the direction of, and in conjunction with the Personnel Supervisor II, the Classification, Allocation and Pay Manager (Supervisor I) plans, organizes, and directs the work of the department's transactions program. Provides training, guidance, and assistance to the transactions staff. Evaluates the work of subordinate staff including suggestions and recommendations. Apply State laws, rules, regulations, and bargaining contract provisions concerning personnel transactions. Independently interprets and uses reference material; gives and follows directions. Ability to perform all duties of a Personnel Specialist. Performs complex and technical tasks with a high degree of independence. Serves as backup to the Personnel Supervisor II. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.
Temporary state housing may be available for those relocating to fill hard to recruit positions. Housing assignments and rates will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

Working Conditions
Physical Demands/Working Conditions : Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement. High density office environment with large work load requiring attention to detail and accuracy. Requires working under stressful conditions often with multiple deadlines generated by constant interactions with personnel staff, facility staff, various agencies, and the public. The incumbent must be able to multi-task in a fast paced office. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinical nursing environment, prolonged sitting and continuous use of telephones and video data terminals.
