Design and Sustaining Engineering Manager
Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Design and Sustaining Engineering Manager.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $133687.53 - $196075.04 a year.

What you'll do:
This position is responsible for overall leadership and supervision of the design and legacy product support including Depot activation. The position in a part of the engineering leadership team within the Los Angeles site operating unit and performs and leads activities related to design and post development, support, and service of hydro-mechanical actuation, flow control (valves), and related products (including electronic control units) and systems. This position will engage in aftermarket product upgrades, investigations, supplier requests, and production floor support as required. Successful candidates will be able to independently lead an engineering team and manage internal, external, customer, and supplier relationships effectively. They will work with all business functions to identify issues, create & drive solutions to completion and ensure that objectives are met within schedule and budget.
In this function you will:
- Lead a team of designers and/or support personnel to deliver high quality technical output on time. Provide coaching, mentoring and communicate individual performance feedback to team members. Direct work priorities for extended team in Pune, India to align to team and site engineering goals and provide feedback on extended team performance.
- Identify, lead and/or organize training related to GD&T standards, 3D modeling, etc. to ensure design, and engineering team are current with industry standards
- Own the management of design standards and create and maintain appropriate training programs to assure continuous learning. Develop and maintain design standards and strategies for designs using additive manufacturing.
- Develop improved engineering design techniques that add value to our products through weight reduction, efficient turnaround time of new models and drawings for designs, design changes, and support our customers.
- Develop and implement processes and tools for engineering tasks consistent with industry best practices. Monitoring to assure adherence to defined processes.
- Manage software tool resources for the design, and engineering team, supporting annual profit planning activities. Manage transitions of critical software change deployment (i.e. Enovia, CREO) to ensure preparedness and minimize impact to the engineering team.
- Own FPY and OTD metrics for engineering team (LA and Pune) identifying areas of improvement and implementing associated changes
- Maintain schedule and prioritization of material review board items, production work requests, change requests and change orders pertaining to legacy products. Support customer investigations for legacy products, customer and internal audits, corrective actions for field related issues
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of engineering experience in an Aerospace product development environment
- 2+ years of management experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
