• Facility Setting: Hospital – Operating Room (Transplant/Cardiac)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Surgical Technologist Contract)
• Start Dates: Multiple options in October 2025
• End Date: February 2, 2026
• Duration: 17 weeks
• Shift: Day/Evening, Friday–Sunday, 12-hour shifts (06:30–19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: SURG/OR – Transplant/Cardiac
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,130–$2,190

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in a Level I trauma center or high-acuity hospital setting
• Proven experience with complex cardiac, transplant (kidney and liver), endovascular, laparoscopic, and trauma cases
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program OR at least two years' experience as a Surgical Tech
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Must pass pre-assignment telemetry exam (strict criteria apply)
• Ability to float to multiple hospital units as needed
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel healthcare job requirement)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary surgical equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
• Assist surgeons during cardiac, transplant, endovascular, and trauma surgeries in the CVOR
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to patient safety protocols
• Care for surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures
• Support the surgical team in delivering care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Float to other hospital units or locations as staffing needs require
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency assessments
