Supervisor, Port Services Assets

Overview:

The Supervisor, Port Services Assets will direct, administer, supervise, and support all aspects of the Port Services Asset Team. They will oversee and assist with administrative functions, as well as supporting Operations throughout all of Port Services. Assist in the vendor management, as well as customer account management. This role will report directly to the Director, Port Services Assets.

Available Shift: Monday - Friday, 8a-5p

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises Port Services Asset Team on a day-to-day basis, overseeing Demurrage, Per Diem and Chassis functions.
  • Communicate closely with vendors and customers, as well as staff to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through open communication.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all AP Vendors Statements, including but not limited to Ocean Carriers, IEPs, Long Term Chassis Providers. Including Credit Card Reconciliations for all demurrage and/or Port related charges.
  • Audits weekly Demurrage Credit Card records to ensure accurate daily statistics are produced and accounted for
  • Coordinates accounts receivable activities with the Accounts Receivable Department. This will include receivable collection efforts and a review of billing issues/errors regarding Chassis, Per Diem, Demurrage, Repairs.
  • Confirms Equipment/Fleet inventory is updated by staff.
  • Audits and ensures that proper back up is maintained for customer inventory and billing transactions.
  • Ensures that backup for billing and accounting documents are properly documented in Trinium.
  • Coordinates the distribution of corporate materials as necessary.
  • Distribute procedures and ensure proper training for appropriate personnel.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity for improvement to processes by review of SOPs
  • Troubleshoot and assist all staff with questions, or concerns.
  • Maintains all payroll records for the Port Services Asset Team in a confidential and organized manner.
  • Responsible for HR administrative functions, PTO tracking and processing progressive discipline forms.
  • Assists the Director, Port Services Assets in the development of vacation schedules, work schedules and annual review schedules.
  • Performs duties or projects as needed by the Director, Port Services Assets.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of Supervision experience preferred
  • Experience in transportation/port preferred
  • Measurable customer service skills
  • Computer applications using MS Office-based software
  • Must be flexible in adapting to changing environments
  • Must work within the confidentiality nature of the role
  • Workforce Management payroll system experience
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred, not required

Other:

  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the customer/workload

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 8%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
