Television Specialist
Job Description and Duties
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs, the Television Specialist performs a wide variety of professional and technical tasks in connection with the production, programming and distribution of television programs for the Education Programs in the institution’s media center. S/he will provide supervision, management, adequate control and security of the television studio and the academic audio/visual and media center. Plans, organizes and directs the technical work involved in the preparation of television, audio visual, and graphics materials. Advises, consults with, and originates ideas for department heads and others on design, layout, and use of audio visual media for publications, displays, exhibits, reports, manuals, conferences, films, and training programs. Plans and prepares material for audio visual presentations and does other work as required.

Working Conditions
California Medical Facility (CMF), located in a unique spot in Vacaville, CA. Unique as in being surrounded by many areas for family fun, exercise, touristy adventures and more. Approximately 35 miles east of downtown Sacramento, approximately 53 miles west of Pier 39 in San Francisco, and if you want to meet in the middle you can swing by Napa which is approximately 30 miles west. Also located nearby are the Vacaville Outlets for all your shopping needs.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board. Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency.
