A manufacturer in East LA is looking for a Controller to add to their team. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for cash management, reviewing reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end close. To be successful in this role, the Controller will need to be analytical, have great communication skills, and also be comfortable with being hands-on in accounting. What do you need for this Controller role?
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 15 years of accounting experience
• Must have inventory accounting experience
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred but not necessary
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced Excel

What will you do in this Controller role?
• Oversee daily cash flow, monitor liquidity, and optimize working capital to support business operations.
• Manage and execute all month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Analyze financial and operational variances, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports in accordance with GAAP, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard cost updates.
• Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, identifying key drivers of performance and cost control measures.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance efforts.
