Basic Function Under the direction of an administrator or manager, provides duties related to day-to-day registration activities which assist in the processing of students and related paperwork necessary to facilitate student enrollment into college classes and programs. The Registration Technician is an entry-level classification within the Admissions and Records (A&R) Department. The incumbent performs a variety of routine, day-to-day activities to support the A&R office, staff, and students. The Registration Technician works under the direct supervision of the administrator or manager and executes the assigned tasks with a lower-degree of independent judgement and makes decisions based on well defined and established guidelines, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment and or at the direction of the administrator. The Registration Technician is distinguished from the Admissions and Records Technician I and II in that the latter classifications perform essential responsibilities requiring moderate to advanced knowledge of A&R policies and procedures under general or limited direction from the administrator or manager. Representative Duties 1. Reviews records for status change; accepts, reviews, and processes college application data into student information system; enters application data into college computer program. E 2. Reviews applications for accuracy and completeness and makes corrections as needed; reviews and resolves applications held in errors. E 3. Residence codes college applications that are routine in nature; enters and updates routine applications. E 4. Issues transportation program; verifies student's eligibility, activates, issues transportation passes, and process replacement passes, as needed. E 5. Answers and provides information and assistance to students and employees in any modality identified by the college, including by not limited to, in person, via email, and by phone. E 6. Takes identification card photos and issues the card for students and staff. E 7. Admits, registers, processes change of program/major, and add/drop, requests. E 8. Identifies codes for application reporting (high school, college). E 9. Works payment windows, accepts fees in cash, check, credit card payments and posts payment information on the system; reconciles daily fee payment receipts, cash on hand resolves issues. E 10. Organizes, arranges, and files all physical and electronic documents. E 11. Assists with training of new registration clerks. E 12. May train and provide work direction to student workers, student assistants, and short-term, temporary staff. E 13. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative responsibilities in support of the department's day-to-day activities and/or operations utilizing a variety of communication modalities including but not limited to answers and responds to phone calls, emails, text messages, and chat platforms; opens, screens, and distributes mail and correspondence; photocopies documents and requests duplication services; ensures maintenance and repairs of assigned work areas, facilities, or equipment; enters various requests for services from IT, Facilities, and Maintenance; contacts vendors for equipment service, when needed; follows up with vendors to ensure satisfactory completion of requests; may perform simple repairs or maintenance to standard office equipment. E 14. Performs related duties that support the overall objective of the position. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of:- District policies and procedures related to the area of assignment.

Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
License Certificates/Credentials- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver license.
