Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Point Mugu NAWS)

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator supporting ongoing operations at a remote work site thats a part of Naval Base Ventura County.

SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 150 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.

***Please note this position works an 8 day on/6 day off specifically at San Nicolas Island. The position will travel from Naval Base Ventura County to the island via government flight.***

The pay range for this position will be $40-$42 per hour. The benefits also includes: 11 paid federal holidays per year, 56 hours of annual accrued Sick Leave (equivalent to 7 paid days off), and a medical, health, dental, and life insurance bundle.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and repair utility systems, including water, wastewater, and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on treatment plant equipment, systems, and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, diagnose system deficiencies, and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments.
• Conduct system outages and support construction, modification, and upgrade activities as required.
• Install, test, and commission devices, equipment, and system components related to utility operations.
• Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment associated with wastewater and water treatment operations.
• Monitor system performance and operating conditions to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
• Utilize visual and sensory perception and hand-eye coordination to safely operate equipment, detect deficiencies, and complete repairs.
• Apply basic mathematical calculations to determine treatment process requirements and operational parameters.
• Read, interpret, and apply information from construction drawings, blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals.
• Coordinate work activities with other trades and understand how wastewater treatment operations interface with related disciplines.
• Safely operate motorized vehicles in the performance of assigned duties.

Requirements:

• Must possess both California Grade D2 Distribution System License AND California Grade T2 Water Treatment Operator License.
• Possess a valid California Class C drivers license.
• In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in wastewater, water, and industrial wastewater treatment system operations and maintenance.
• Proficiency in the use of utility system trade tools, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues within treatment systems.
• Working knowledge of safety practices, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance applicable to wastewater treatment facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and operating manuals.
• Basic mathematical aptitude applicable to treatment processes and utility operations.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
