This position is currently located at the California Natural Resources Building in Downtown Sacramento.

The Asset Management (AM) Branch leads DWR’s effort to enhance its management of SWP water storage and conveyance infrastructure. A key function of the branch is developing AM plans which define strategies for monitoring, inspection, maintenance, & asset renewal to ensure the long-term safety and reliability of SWP facilities.

Duties: This position serves as the Civil Asset Planning Lead – leading multi-disciplinary teams to develop & implement AM plans for SWP canals, pipelines, tunnels, & other civil infrastructure. Responsibilities also include supporting portfolio optimization, business case evaluations, risk management, data management, & financial planning. This specialist position serves as a functional team lead & task order manager for contracted support services.

This position requires that the incumbent work cooperatively with people at all levels within the organization; maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, & exercise good judgment; have effective writing & communicating skills; plan, organize, lead, & control the work of small project teams; knowledge of asset management system standards; work independently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, pay great attention to detail, work well under pressure & within limited time frames.

Employee is required to successfully complete all safety training related to the functions of the job. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

This position is covered by the Political Reform Act & requires financial disclosure within 30 days of the first & last day physically worked in the position & annually by April 1st.

Under the provisions of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard CIP-004 as part of the Energy Policy of 2005, this position has authorized cyber access to or unescorted physical access around critical cyber assets & is subject to a satisfactory background check prior to appointment & every seven years thereafter.
