Reports To: Community Banking Manager
Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a Branch Service / Operations Manager to lead daily operations and deliver exceptional customer service within our Retail Banking Center. This role is responsible for managing branch operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations, and driving business development and sales initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, banking knowledge, and a passion for building relationships with customers and the community.
Work Schedule
Your anticipated schedule may include:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Customer Service
Ensure a superior level of customer service is consistently delivered within the banking center.
Oversee daily branch operations, internal controls, and asset management.
Maintain proficiency in all banking operations including teller functions and new account services.
Assist on the teller line or with new accounts as needed to support customer service needs.
Ensure daily work transactions are completed accurately and in compliance with bank policies.
Staff Leadership & Development
Supervise, coach, and motivate branch staff to achieve sales and service goals.
Coordinate training and development in cross-selling and telemarketing techniques.
Establish staff schedules and review timecards to ensure proper coverage and cost control.
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and other personnel actions.
Sales & Business Development
Actively generate new business through prospecting, business calls, telemarketing, community involvement, and Bank-At-Work programs.
Promote and cross-sell bank products and services to meet or exceed sales goals.
Track and report sales results and performance metrics to management.
Compliance, Security & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly audits and maintain BCR reviews.
Maintain proper control of cash and confidential financial information.
Oversee branch security procedures including opening/closing protocols, alarm testing, and safety compliance.
Administrative & Operational Oversight
Monitor business documentation and account opening agreements.
Maintain records and follow-up files for business development and customer inquiries.
Oversee safe deposit activity and dormant account file audits.
Partner with leadership to support Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a responsible banking position .
Prior supervisory experience or completion of supervisory training required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of banking operations and applicable state and federal banking regulations .
Excellent leadership, sales, and motivational skills.
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook .
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual ability is a plus.
Certifications / Licenses
Valid California driver’s license required.
Must maintain current auto insurance meeting California DMV minimum requirements.
