Surveillance Investigator
Workers’ Compensation Surveillance Investigator (Part-Time / On-Call)
We are seeking experienced Surveillance Investigators for part-time, on-call assignments involving workers’ compensation investigations. Candidates must have prior surveillance experience and be capable of independently conducting mobile and stationary surveillance operations.
Position Overview:
The Surveillance Investigator is responsible for conducting covert surveillance, documenting claimant activities, obtaining video evidence, and preparing detailed reports for workers’ compensation and insurance-related investigations.
This is an on-call, field-based position with variable hours based on case assignments and operational needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of surveillance investigation experience required.
- Experience conducting workers’ compensation surveillance preferred.
- Strong observational and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Flexible schedule with availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended surveillance assignments.
- Professional demeanor and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
Equipment Requirements:
Candidates must possess and maintain the following:
- Registered and reliable vehicle suitable for surveillance operations.
- Vehicle window tint preferred for covert observation.
- Professional surveillance camera/video equipment capable of capturing high-quality footage.
- Laptop computer for report writing and video upload.s
- Smartphone with GPS/navigation capability.
- Reliable internet access.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct covert mobile and stationary surveillance.
- Capture clear and admissible video evidence.
- Maintain detailed activity logs and investigative notes.
- Prepare accurate written reports in a timely manner.
- Upload video and case documentation securely.
- Communicate effectively with case managers and supervisors.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SIU or insurance investigation experience.
- Experience with surveillance editing software.
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation claims processes.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
