SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Retail Allocator is responsible for managing the distribution of merchandise across retail stores to ensure optimal stock levels that meet consumer demand. This role ensures that each store has the right products in the right quantities at the right time, supporting the company's sales goals and maximizing product performance. Working closely with the merchandising, planning, and store operations teams, the Retail Allocator plays a key role in driving profitability through effective inventory management and allocation strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Allocation and Replenishment

  • Execute store-level allocation strategies, ensuring timely product distribution based on sales forecasts, store capacity, and historical performance.
  • Monitor stock levels across all retail locations, identifying inventory needs and ensuring optimal replenishment of key products.
  • Collaborate with the planning and merchandising teams to develop tailored allocation strategies for new products, core items, and promotional collections.
  • Review and adjust allocations regularly based on real-time sales data and seasonal fluctuations, ensuring stores are stocked in line with demand.
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of new product lines, reorders, and replenishment.

Inventory Management

  • Track in-store inventory levels and manage stock transfers to ensure balanced distribution across all retail locations.
  • Analyze slow-moving or overstocked inventory and recommend product transfers, markdowns, or alternative strategies to improve sell-through rates.
  • Manage the reallocation of stock between stores as necessary, optimizing inventory placement to reflect local and regional sales trends.
  • Support the planning team in managing aged inventory and liquidation processes to maintain inventory health across retail locations.

Product Launches and Special Events

  • Assist in the allocation and distribution of merchandise for new store openings, seasonal launches, and special in-store events.
  • Ensure that stores are adequately stocked with promotional items and new releases according to the merchandising calendar and product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with store teams to communicate allocation plans and ensure proper execution of product placement and availability.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Provide weekly and monthly allocation and inventory performance reports to the merchandising and planning teams, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze store-specific sales data and trends to identify opportunities for allocation adjustments or reorders.
  • Utilize data to develop and refine allocation strategies that optimize product placement and increase sales across retail locations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the merchandising, planning, and store operations teams to ensure alignment between product allocation and overall business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with store managers to gather feedback on inventory performance and address any stock-related concerns.
  • Partner with the e-commerce and distribution teams to manage cross-channel stock movements as needed.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in retail allocation, merchandise planning, or inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and adjust allocation strategies accordingly.
  • Proficient in Excel and retail inventory management systems; experience with D365 is a plus.
  • Commercially astute and confident decision maker
  • Positive energy, attention to detail, extremely organized, and genuine excitement for the job
  • Able to build relationships across cross-functional departments with ease and communicate across channels to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change
