Under the general direction of the Personnel Supervisor II, as the subject matter expert for various Personnel related programs, the incumbent handles the most difficult, sensitive and complex personnel/payroll issues. The incumbent researches critical personnel problems and recommends alternative solutions; provides training to lower level specialists; prepares management reports, spreadsheets, and charts; drafts correspondence; functions as a team member on personnel-related projects; acts as a coordinator for a variety of personnel/payroll programs. Provides support and direction for transaction workloads, and effectively communicates with employees, management and control agencies. Demonstrates flexibility while working within the framework of laws, rules, policies and guidelines to independently process documents for FTB employees. Demonstrates commitment to provide customers with accurate and timely assistance in all areas of responsibility

This classification is eligible for an annual recruitment and retention bonus after completion of 12 months in the classification. Please note that this occurs every 12 months!

Working Conditions

  • This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centered and may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
