Buyer/Purchasing Agent - Electrical Contractor

We have a current opening for a Buyer for our office in Sacramento, CA.
The Buyer will assist the Royal Electric team in varying aspects of purchasing operations and responsibilities. The individual will be responsible for aiding the team to ensure the ability to obtain best quality materials and products at the most competitive price available.
Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
- Enter and process Purchase Orders (POs) received from project managers and field operations staff based on requisition requirements.
- Match invoices to POs upon receipt for accuracy and timely payment.
- Carry out warehouse inventory control policies and procedures, tracks materials and aids in scheduling.
- Coordinate POs and delivery of materials with job site foreman, superintendent, or project management.
- Resolve issues with deliveries.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, reliability, and distribution capabilities.
- Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites and consult with department personnel to locate goods and services.
- Assist project team as necessary.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- 2+ years of purchasing experience; knowledge of construction/electrical industry a plus.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledgeable regarding common construction/electrical industry terminology a plus
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, such as, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Spectrum software a plus
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, customers, vendors, etc.
Safety & Physical Requirements:
- Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites.
- Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the workday.
- May lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach.
Salary Range:
- $70,000/Year - $80,000/Year
- This is an exempt position.
