Electrical Drafter
Electrical CAD Drafter (AutoCAD)
Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: 100% On-Site
Compensation: $28 – $38 per hour (based on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a CAD Drafter to support an engineering team working on electrical infrastructure and power delivery projects. This position focuses primarily on AutoCAD production drafting , assisting engineers by converting design markups into detailed technical drawings.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys high-quality drafting work, structured engineering environments, and supporting large infrastructure projects.
- Convert engineer redline markups into accurate AutoCAD drawings.
- Modify and update existing engineering drawings.
- Produce drawings according to established CAD standards, templates, and layering structures.
- Ensure drawing revisions are accurate and consistent with project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure the drafting work reflects the intended design updates.
- Maintain organization and consistency within drawing files and documentation.
- Most work will involve 2D drafting , with occasional exposure to 3D tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience using AutoCAD for technical drafting.
- Experience working from engineering markups or redline revisions.
- Ability to follow CAD standards and structured drawing templates.
- Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical infrastructure or power related drawings.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD SDS (Substation Design Suite).
- Exposure to 3D CAD environments.
- Experience with MicroStation.
- Background in industries such as:
- Power utilities.
- Electrical engineering.
- Oil and gas.
- Refineries.
- Industrial electrical systems.
