General Manager
HAVASU LANDING CASINO & HOTEL DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
RESPONSIBLE FOR: ALL CASINO AND HOTEL OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: HAVASU LANDING BOARD OF DIRECTORS
STATUS: FULL-TIME/EXEMPT
SALARY: $100,000/YEAR SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES:
The General Manager (GM) has total responsibility for all operations of the Havasu Landing Casino and Hotel. The GM works closely with the management team to ensure maximum profitability while staying within the budget; has overall responsibility for strategic planning and market strategy for the Casino and Hotel. Key duties include developing strategic plans, managing budgets, directing department heads, overseeing marketing, and maintaining high service standards across all departments. The GM is responsible for leading the culture and for supervising and motivating the Management Team. Duties also include ensuring the Casino and Hotel, and all its employees, comply with Standard Operating Procedures and maintain a high standard of guest satisfaction. The GM serves as company representative in dealing with Tribal and state officials, the community, and the media. The GM will ensure all legal requirements for the operation are met and internal controls are maintained.
The GM is also responsible for public relations: customer complaints and suggestions, the expulsion of troublesome customers, ensuring rules and policies are enforced, and monitoring activities on the casino floor. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must qualify for gaming license
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Cannot be convicted of a felony
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Five (5) years proven leadership experience in gaming management required, Tribal gaming strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or finance preferred, or an equivalent amount of work experience, formal education, and training
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with guests and other team members
- Computer experience is essential, including all windows applications
- Must be proficient with MS Office
- Strong organization and administration skills required
- Ability to lead a team to achieve departmental and company objectives
- Knowledge of CasinoTrac a plus
- Lead and oversee all Casino and Hotel operations
- Oversee the Casino Administration and Management teams
- Develop and execute strategic plans to increase revenue, enhance guest satisfaction, and optimize operational efficiency
- Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring department heads and empowering staff to deliver exceptional service
- Monitor financial performance, manage budgets and financial planning, and implement cost-control measures without compromising quality
- Ensure compliance with gaming laws, hospitality standards, and safety protocols
- Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times
- Report to the Havasu Landing Board of Directors and attend monthly meetings
- Must be available to attend monthly Chemehuevi Tribal Council meetings, present monthly financial statements, and present the yearly budget
- Address all customer concerns with the appropriate department management
- Attend to the expulsion of troublesome customers
- Ensure all management is aware of the important aspects of safety for all employees and customers
- Create, approve and/or implement new policy and procedures
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be willing to be on call for Casino and Hotel related emergencies
- Must work weekends, nights, and holidays
- Performs all other duties as assigned

Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, and manage anger, fear, hostility, and violence of others appropriately.
