RJOY Receptionist and Retail Store Manager

Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY) seeks a polished and professional Receptionist and Store Manager to join our team. RJOY interrupts cycles of violence and incarceration by promoting RJ practices and policies in schools, communities, and the juvenile justice system.

Receptionist Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to team and organizational success by accomplishing results as directed
• Maintain the appearance of the office by keeping work surfaces organized, tidy and clutter-free.
• Greet clients and answer questions. Monitors and assists clients in the general waiting area.
• Connect visitors and clients to the appropriate RJOY staff person.
• General monitoring of the interior and exterior of the building and general clean up.
• Answer incoming phone calls. Place outgoing calls and engage in organizational research as requested.
• Order food and provide hospitality for recurring client and staff meetings.
• Manage scheduling of common meeting spaces. Publish daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Work within established procedures and practices to complete routine work assignments autonomously; follow instructions to complete additional tasks and duties as assigned.
• Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and tracking orders; and verifying receipt of supplies.

Retail Store Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Open The Cowrie Shell Retail Store on weekdays at 9:30 a.m. and other occasional times as requested.
• Close The Cowrie Shell Retail Store on weekdays at 4:00 p.m. and other occasional times as requested.
• Maintain The Cowrie Shell to be tidy, well-appointed, welcoming, and inviting and reflect the brand and culture of RJOY at large.
• Manage store website, social media, and marketing materials.
• Manage Cowrie Shell retail store records including invoices, pricing reference information, Square transaction reports, etc. All financial records are to be organized, accessible, and audit-ready.
• Ensure the security and meticulous organization of retail items in storefront and backroom storage.
• Resolve order and inventory problems by investigating data and history; identifying alternate means for filling orders; and notifying managers and customers.

Receptionist & Retail Management Qualifications:

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Polished and professional demeanor and appearance.
• High level of awareness and attention to detail.
• Adept with Apple iOS.
• Possess software skills including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Highly organized and able to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Knowledge of office equipment maintenance, including printers and coffee makers, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year of experience working in a retail, hospitality, or business office environment
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service and people skills
• Critical thinking
• Selling skills
• Organizational skills
• Computer literacy including data entry skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
