We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lien Negotiator to join our team. This role is critical in helping our clients receive the best possible settlement outcomes by negotiating and resolving medical liens, balances, and claims efficiently and professionally.

The Lien Negotiator is responsible for handling the negotiation, reduction, verification, and resolution of medical liens, balances, and related settlement obligations connected to personal injury cases. This role requires strong negotiation abilities, organization, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a high-volume environment.
The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, case managers, providers, insurance carriers, and clients to ensure timely and favorable lien resolutions while maximizing client recovery.
This position plays a vital role in the final stages of the client experience and requires professionalism, urgency, accuracy, and compassion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Review, analyze, and negotiate medical liens, balances, and claims related to personal injury matters
- Communicate with medical providers, hospitals, chiropractors, surgical centers, health insurance carriers, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medicaid, and other lien holders regarding reductions and settlements
- Work directly with attorneys and legal staff to maximize client settlement recoveries
- Verify outstanding balances, treatment costs, and lien documentation
- Prepare settlement breakdowns and lien resolution summaries
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all negotiations and communications
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely follow-up with providers and lien representatives
- Handle high-volume files while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Review billing discrepancies and identify opportunities for reductions or corrections
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients regarding lien statuses when necessary
- Assist with issuance and coordination of provider payments and settlement disbursements
- Collaborate with pre-litigation teams, case managers, and accounting departments to ensure smooth case resolution
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Work efficiently within a paperless and technology-driven legal environment
- Prior experience in personal injury lien negotiation preferred
- Experience handling medical liens, provider negotiations, or settlement reductions strongly preferred
- Understanding of personal injury settlement processes
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and health insurance lien resolution is a plus
- Experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required
- Experience working within Filevine or similar case management systems is a plus
