Principal Program Financial Analyst

Location: El Segundo, Nashua

Pacific Defense, a fast-growing defense technology company delivering military-use electromagnetic spectrum solutions to the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industry partners, is seeking a Principal Program Financial Analyst to support execution and financial leadership across its expanding contract portfolio.

This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role requiring strong independent judgment and minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will operate as a finance leader within program execution and business level FP&A — partnering directly with Program Managers, IPTs, functional leaders, and Business Area VPs to drive program health, forecasting accuracy, and financial discipline.

This role will report to the Finance Director and will have significant visibility and interaction with the CFO and senior Leadership Team, contributing directly to executive-level financial discussions and decision-making.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Lead program-level financial ownership across multiple contracts
• Own and drive EAC development, updates, and schedule alignment
• Provide independent revenue, COGS, margin, and cash flow analysis by program
• Identify risks and opportunities and proactively recommend mitigation actions
• Support business-level forecasting and FP&A modeling
• Prepare and present financial insights for program and executive reviews
• Partner with PMs to ensure financial rigor in execution and decision-making
• Support proposal pricing strategy and financial modeling efforts
• Drive continuous improvement of program finance processes and reporting tools
• Contribute to enhancement and expansion of Workday Adaptive Planning and related systems

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship
• 8+ years of finance experience, including program finance in the defense industry
• Strong understanding of EAC development, forecasting, and program financial controls
• Ability to operate independently with minimal direction
• Experience partnering directly with program leadership
• Strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in high-growth or start-up environments
• Experience with Unanet or similar GovCon ERP systems
• Workday Adaptive Planning experience
• Power BI or advanced data visualization experience
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence cross-functional teams
