Job Description and Duties

THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

About this role:

Successful candidates will have a special combination of great analytical and communication skills. They will analyze employer account information and make determinations while processing various workloads, in accordance with established guidelines of the California Unemployment Insurance Code.

This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento within walking distance to Light Rail, farmer's markets during the summer months, the Golden 1 Center, and an eclectic collection of retailers, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position. This position is headquartered in Downtown Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


Experience working with ACES, excellent customer service, knowledge of payroll taxes, ability to interpret and apply tax laws to ensure compliance with California Unemployment Insurance Codes (CUIC), proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word), positive attitude, possess good time management skills and attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work well in a team environment as well as individually with little supervision.
