Forklift Operator
Our cold storage warehouse is seeking a reliable and hardworking Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically active work and working in cold conditions. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with opportunities for overtime.
Starting Rate: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
Available Shift: Mon – Fri: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Duties:
- Operate a stand-up forklift (reach truck) to move, locate, stack, and count product safely and efficiently
- Pull, stage, and verify large customer orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
- Perform shipping and receiving functions, including unloading and loading product from trailers, containers, and bobtail trucks
- Receive inbound shipments by pallet or case and verify accuracy, including lot numbers and quantities
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) processes and maintain accurate inventory practices
- Re-stack pallets as needed to ensure product is secure and meets transportation and warehouse standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all warehouse safety procedures
- Support general warehouse operations and assist with additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a stand-up forklift (reach truck)
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
- Understanding of warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving, inventory control, and safety practices
- Ability to perform hands-on, physically active work, including lifting 25–50 lbs. and standing/walking throughout the shift
- Flexibility to work overtime, based on business needs
- Reliable transportation to report to work as scheduled
- Experience operating an electric rider pallet jack is a plus
- Basic math skills and ability to pass an in-house skills assessment
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate effectively with team members
- Successful candidates will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug screen.
