Position Summary
The Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Highway Construction will oversee project execution from start to finish, ensuring that goals are met on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards . This role will manage field operations, project teams, and client relationships while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety, cost control, and team leadership .
Key Responsibilities
Instill Safety as the highest priority across all phases of the project.
Manage and mentor a team of Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field personnel .
Track and report project progress, budgets, and resource needs in coordination with Operations Managers.
Build and maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.
Identify, document, and obtain approvals for changes in project scope, budget, and schedule .
Oversee monthly billings, cash flow projections, and change order processing .
Review and update project schedules in coordination with site management.
Coordinate equipment and staffing requirements with regional and project teams.
Maintain full knowledge of plans, specifications, and project documentation .
Represent the company at client meetings, site walks, and progress reviews .
Ensure consistent communication, proactive problem-solving, and alignment with company policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management , Civil Engineering , or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction as a Project Engineer or Project Manager .
Proven experience managing infrastructure projects involving earthwork, paving, grading, underground utilities, or structures .
Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and contract administration .
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills .
Keen attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, high-performing team environment.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
