Doctor's Assistants wanted for busy, multi-doctor veterinary practice.
*Emergency experience preferred but not required*
Our Doctor’s Assistants play an integral role in providing excellent service to our clients as well bridging communications between all hospital departments. A caring and compassionate attitude as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required of our team members.
The Veterinary DA streamlines the client flow to provide the best possible customer service experience. You will work closely with the doctors and technicians to ensure that clients comply with treatment plans and understand after-care instructions.
The DA is also responsible for updating patient medical records, keeping doctors on schedule with appointments and surgeries, and ensuring the doctors review all diagnostics daily. An understanding of animal diseases, veterinary terminology, nutrition, and basic animal handling and restraint skills are required.
Previous experience with paperless practices and SmartFlow and EzyVet is strongly preferred.
Candidates with previous experience as a veterinary receptionist, CSR or vet assistant are highly desirable.
We also welcome candidates with Associate's or Bachelor's degrees in Animal Science.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Streamline DVM workflow by reviewing the appointment schedule, anticipating client arrivals, taking patient history and TPRs, concisely relaying client concerns to the doctors
- Track patient flow through the clinic to ensure patients are checked in, examined, treated and discharged promptly and efficiently
- Timely updating patient medical records in SmartFlow & ezyVet, including doctors SOAP notes, client communications, diagnostics results, and treatment plans
- Create accurate estimates and convert estimates into treatment plans
- Make follow-up calls for progress exams, updates, client compliance, and recommendations
- Promote preventative services to the clients
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner are essential
- Demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with pet owners, management, and staff
Additional Requirements
- Prefer a minimum of two years previous veterinary clinic experience.
- Punctuality and consistent attendance are a MUST.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary is commensurate with experience, with possibility of bonuses based on performance.
- We offer a flexible 4/10 full-time schedule, but you must be available to work one weekend day per week.
- shifts can either be day/swing shift
