The Challenge


The T2 AI group focuses on developing innovative ways to solve problems within the game development process, demonstrating directly the ways that AI can improve the creativity and efficiency of team members across T2 and its subsidiaries.

Our research group is looking for an AI research and development expert, with proven experience working at the intersection of AI, games, and computational creativity. The candidate will take a leading role in advancing our internal AI capabilities, creating innovative technical prototypes, and building out our toolset in collaboration with game and product teams.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of diverse AI methods and computational approaches in the games space, and a strong track record of designing and building AI prototypes and software. They should be able to lead the development and evaluation of our AI systems, help guide the direction of AI research for the team, and have excellent communication skills to effectively share knowledge.



What You’ll Take On



  • Lead the design and development of exploratory and experimental AI systems that solve computational creativity challenges

  • Collaborate with game, product, and infrastructure teams to identify needs and propose novel AI solutions

  • Architect and implement software across a range of approaches, including designer tooling, in-game systems, and functional prototypes

  • Coordinate and plan across teams to ensure seamless delivery and integration

  • Communicate effectively in a collaborative inter-disciplinary environment

  • Educate and mentor in the use of AI technologies and contribute to a culture of excellence



What You Bring



  • Ph.D. in computer science or related area, with specialization in AI, or equivalent experience; 5+ years of work experience beyond graduate school work

  • Proven experience building AI systems for games, such as procedural content generation, procedural narrative, or computational creativity

  • Experience with a broad variety of AI techniques and the ability to evaluate and communicate their strengths and weaknesses with regard to specific problems

  • Experience with principles of game design and implementation

  • Experience with Python, either Unity / C# or Unreal / C++, and front-end development

  • Familiarity with cloud development and infrastructure principles - AWS preferred

  • Familiarity with public speaking and giving effective presentations

  • Previous games industry experience a plus

  • Experience with both Unity and Unreal development a plus

This position can be remote only from the states listed and Washington D.C. : MA, CT, NY, NJ, RI, MD, PA (excluding Philadelphia), FL, OH, TN, IL, MN, TX, ID, UT, AZ, WA, OR, NV, and CA.


The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $133,900 and $198,160 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
